Connecticut businesses, website publishers and nonprofit organizations generated $5.43 billion in economic activity in 2018 thanks to Google, according to data released by the search engine company.

Google’s 2018 Economic Impact Report also claimed that it provided $3.3 million of free advertising last year to Connecticut nonprofits through the Google Ad Grants program. The company also stated that 12,000 Connecticut businesses, website publishers and nonprofits made use of its advertising solutions Google Ads and AdSense in 2018.

Among the states, Connecticut ranked 15th for total economic impact driven by Google’s services and 29th for the number of entities using Google’s digital tools.
