Pitney Bowes has announced a new partnership with Pirate Ship, a provider of free shipping software, that will incorporate Pitney Bowes’ Pure Post service into the Pirate Ship product.
According to the Stamford-based Pitney Bowes, Pure Post service is designed for business clients and offers compliance, integration and label generation for USPS shipping, delivery and tracking services, as well as e-commerce logistics services. Pirate Ship markets its software to the small-business sector, and provides software import data on e-commerce orders, prints a USPS shipping label and automatically posts tracking information.
“We made a strategic decision two years ago that enables e-commerce platforms to create simpler connections to USPS rates and services,” said Rajeeb Mohapatra, senior vice president and general manager for shipping solutions at Pitney Bowes. “This is an exciting partnership for Pitney Bowes because Pirate Ship shares the same goals we have. We’re excited about helping more e-commerce merchants simply do more business.”
