Today is a day of reflection and service. Communities throughout the area will offer ceremonies in remembrance. Few communities lost more of their members on 9/11 than Greenwich. The September 11th Memorial Greenwich will remember its 32 fallen from 6 to 7 p.m. tonight at Cos Cob Park.
The ceremony will include remarks by FDNY battalion chief Joseph McHugh, a first responder that day and a Greenwich High School graduate.This year, members of the family of Teddy Maloney, who was killed in the attacks, will read the names of the victims and ring a bell for each. Lt. Jim Bonney will play the bagpipes and Leila Kharem will sing the National Anthem with music by Neil Spritzer and Pablo Mayor. Bugler Chris Fiore and the retreat of the colors will close out the ceremony.
