The New York Botanical Garden has announced that a special guest will design this year’s edition of The Orchid Show, a popular event that fills the historic Enid A. Haupt Conservatory on its Bronx grounds.

Noted Belgian floral artist Daniel Ost will create a series of installations, each, we’re told, “a living sculpture that celebrates the complex beauty of these stunning flowers.”

Ost has cultivated a worldwide reputation for his installations in both public and private spaces, with his work traditionally featuring both living and cut flowers.

His large-scale art has drawn comparisons to many sculptors. In Belgium he has been called “the Picasso of flower arranging.”

Sounds like this year’s show – the 16th edition opens March 3 and continues through April 22 – will be yet another “must-see” event at the Garden.
