SFW Capital Partners, a Rye-based private equity firm, has hired Terry Kelly, the former president of Delaware-based TA Instruments, as an operating partner.
In his new role, Kelly will support SFW’s focus on industrial and healthcare technology companies, with a particular emphasis on providers of instrumentation, life sciences tools, sensors and measurement devices, laboratory equipment and consumables. Among the companies that SFW has supported are Essen Bioscience, Filtec, Spectro Scientific, Metter Toledo and Waters Corp.
Kelly served as TA Instruments’ president for the last 14 years – the company is a Waters Corp. subsidiary – and is credited with growing its revenue stream from $100 million to $280 million while completing 13 strategic acquisitions in the U.S. and Europe.
“I am excited to team up with SFW in the pursuit and support of new investments,” said Kelly. “Their patient approach to business building, deep sector-focused resources, and long history of success make them ideal partners for founders, owners and management teams of businesses in our sector.”
