The CEO of Visa, Alfred F. Kelly Jr., addressed the 2018 graduating class of Iona Prep during ceremonies held May 24 at Iona College in New Rochelle. Kelly is a 1976 graduate of Iona Prep and lives in Rye.
“I would strongly suggest that Iona Prep has gifted you a number of great treasures: friends, values, study habits and Christ,” Kelly said. “All four of these gifts, sounds like to me, are gifts that keep giving … and can be with you the rest of your life.”
Kelly received the Alumni Award.
This year’s valedictorian was Peter Calicchia, 18, from Tuckahoe. The salutatorian was Charlie Flanagan, 17, who lives in Rye Brook. There were 196 graduates in all. The school reported that in their senior year, the graduates contributed about 7,500 hours of volunteer service to the community.
